Imposter Syndrome: Why You’re More Than Enough (Even If You Don’t Feel Like It)

Ever feel like you’re just winging it—at work, at home, or in your creative projects? Like you’re not “really” qualified, and everyone is about to find out? That nagging voice has a name: imposter syndrome. And trust me, you’re not alone.

**What Is Imposter Syndrome?**

Imposter syndrome is the persistent feeling that you’re not as competent, talented, or deserving as you appear to be. It can make you doubt your skills, downplay your achievements, and feel like a fraud—even when there’s plenty of evidence to the contrary. It’s common among creatives, parents, professionals, and honestly, just about anyone trying something new or stepping outside their comfort zone.

**My Struggles with Imposter Syndrome**

Running Cady Creations, I constantly question if I count as a “real” artist. I use digital tools and print-on-demand companies, not traditional paint and canvas. I never went to design school—everything I know, I learned on my own. Sometimes, I use AI to help refine my ideas, organize my jumbled, ADHD thoughts into clearer sentences, and even help bring the images in my head to life. Even so, I worry that because I’m not hand-making every shirt or sticker, my work isn’t authentic enough.

Imposter syndrome doesn’t stop at my business. As a mom and wife, I constantly feel like I’m not doing enough. Low self-esteem makes it hard to accept compliments or celebrate wins, big or small. There are days I think, “Who am I to call myself an artist, a good mom, or a successful business owner?” The struggle is daily—I still feel like I’m holding myself back, afraid to put my true self out there.

Lately, though, I’ve started pushing myself out of my comfort zone. I’ve been posting photos of myself wearing my own samples, even though I’m not always happy with my body. I’m also branching out, trying to connect with others I’ve met online who share similar interests and run their own creative businesses. It’s uncomfortable, but I’m learning that sharing my journey and being vulnerable is part of what makes my brand—and my story—real.

**You’re Not Alone—And You Are Enough**

If any of this resonates with you, know this: your journey is valid. You don’t need a degree or a traditional path to be creative or successful. Using technology to help refine your ideas or organize your thoughts doesn’t make you less—it makes you resourceful. And being a parent, partner, or creator is hard enough without adding extra pressure.

Imposter syndrome is sneaky, but it doesn’t get the final say. Your work, your effort, and your ideas matter. You are more than enough—even when you don’t feel like it.

Imposter syndrome is tough, but it doesn’t define your worth or your talent. If you’re struggling with these feelings, know you’re in good company—and you absolutely belong here. Keep showing up, keep creating, and remember: you’re doing better than you think. If you ever need a reminder, just look at how far you’ve come.
